Lahore: Following the footsteps of Pakistan Tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq, a Beaconhouse student is ready to win championships. Omar Jawad, a young player from class IV Pink has excelled in numerous tennis tournaments. He has proven himself the best player in the under-10 category and continued to leave his mark as he progressed in the under-12 category.

A few of his accomplishments are:

  • Omar beat his opponent 4-0-4-0 to win the McDonalds Junior National Ranking Tennis Championship 2019
  • Omar won the Quaids Day U-10 title held at Punjab Tennis Academy Baagh e Jinnah on 25th December 2019 and the National Tennis Championship a week later. He played against Ismail Aftab and won 8-7 to lift the Quaid’s Day Trophy.
  • He was awarded the trophy for the maximum number of victories at the DHA Winter Sports Gala 2019-2020 in the U-10 category along with the medal for the most improved player.

Omar says, “Goals and victory at times seem far away but when I am on the court then it’s just my game that I enjoy- this confidence helps me win against my opponents as I play for myself and winning and losing is part of the game.” Start struck by Roger Federer, he aims to make us all proud in the International Tennis Tournaments soon.
