Lahore: Prophet Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W said, “An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab ... a white person has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over white except by piety and good action.”

Global Dignity Day is celebrated globally in recognition of the dignity of people. The ardour and enthusiasm of the students of Upper Primary were admirable as like every year. Students arranged activities as they do each year; however, social distance and SOPs were top of mind this year.

Students of grade 3 arranged for Lunch Boxes for the support staff. The purpose was to educate and inspire children in particular, about the concept and importance of human dignity.

Students of grade 4 distributed ration packs to the security and support staff. The packing was done during the Art lessons to ensure each child felt the warmth of charity with demureness.

Grade 5 students had a virtual meet up through Zoom with students of grade 5 at a non-profit charitable organisation; Door of Awareness. The students shared the ideology of dignity and the importance of sharing a mutual respect for each individual the whole year-round. A healthy discussion was generated between both the groups. Short video clips and a PowerPoint presentation were shared as well. In the end, all the students took the following pledge;
"I pledge to join with others to create a world where empathy, consideration and love will be dominant over intolerance, injustice and inequality. I pledge to be kind and open-minded, honouring the exceptional gifts and value of others.
I pledge to do this every day and spread the note of dignity everywhere I go."

Students also discussed the importance of social distancing and keeping safe in the current situation. The students of Upper Primary gathered masks and sanitisers for the students of Door of Awareness

as a token of friendship on Global Dignity Day.

Students on each level did creative writing in Urdu and English on the topic; “What Dignity Means to Me?” / “Youm e Azmat e Insaniyat.”

Dignity is the harbinger of peace and tranquillity among people all around the world. Robert Maynard rightfully said;

Human rights rest on human dignity.
