Rawalpindi: Students of Beaconhouse Satellite Town Primary Campus Rawalpindi celebrated Defence day with tremendous zeal on September 4 at Beaconhouse Schooling Uninterrupted. Students organised events to pay homage to the heroes of the 1965 War between Pakistan and India.

Students thanked armed forces for their valour and sacrifice by wearing army outfits. Captivating themed cards of soldiers were designed by the students and they also took part in a role-play 'Rang layega shaheedo ka lahu'.

A documentary was shown regarding soldiers who received Nishan e Haider—country’s supreme Military gallantry award. Furthermore, students of class three wrote messages for the soldiers of war using Padlet while students of grade four expressed their gratitude using their oratory skills by participating in a speech competition on the theme ‘significance of Defence Day'. A virtual army museum tour was also organised.

Another informative documentary on ‘Training of Armed Forces’ sparked a lot of interest among students. Pupils talked about the importance of armed forces in national defence against external threats and internal conflicts. Students also listened to moving accounts from people who were alive during the war.
