Rawalpindi: Peshawar Road Senior Boys' Branch was among the top three contestants in the Nature Carnival organised by WWF at F-9 Park, Islamabad on March 2.

The themes of the carnival were 'Healthy Hygienic Environment' and 'Disaster Management', and an estimated 95 schools participated. Our students prepared 3D working model and displays to depict various natural disasters and their aftermaths such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and rehabilitation camps. Other projects prepared by our students were souvenir scarecrows made from waste material, bookmarks and awareness brochures for the visitors.

A large number of parents and other visitors took time out of their busy schedules and attended the carnival. They took keen interest in our students' stall and asked them questions, which they answered very knowledgably.

The WWF had arranged for foreign judges, who followed rigorous criteria in determining the winners. Private TV channels also covered the event and radio stations interviewed the children as well.

In the Prize Distribution Ceremony at the end, Peshawar Road Senior Boys' Branch was award the third prize. The students and the supporting faculty were very excited to have made it to the top three after months of hard work and preparation.
