Gujranwala: The Culinary Skills and Funky Hairstyle Competition 2012 was organised by the Girls Branch of the Palm Tree Campus, Gujranwala on March 22. The event was dedicated to mothers, and the mothers of all the participants were also invited. The event was also held to mark Pakistan Day.

Contestants of the Salad and Sandwich Making Competition were given 30 minutes to prepare their platters. During preparation time, the hosts Maryam Sajjad and Areeba Mubarak of IX-C-P went to the prep area and talked to the participants about their dishes.

All sections of IX-C participated in the Salad Making Competition and Classes VI and VII took part in the Sandwich Making event. Forty students participated in pairs and prepared mouth-watering dishes. They also exhibited their artistic talents by plating their dishes in brilliant fashion.

The participants' mothers, meanwhile, took part in a Potato Peeling Competition for the title of 'Mother of the Day'.

To make the event more electrifying, a funky hairstyle walk for students of Class V was arranged in which 36 students participated. The theme for the walk was the colours of the Pakistani flag in honour of Pakistan Day.

The function ended with a prize distribution ceremony where Principal Shaheen Salam was the chief guest.
